… I have literally eaten my weight in chocolates… not sure how i’ve managed to stay breathing between mouthfuls but somehow i’ve survived and it’s only partway between the big day and NYE… finally finished off the bit of the goose that got cooked… and very surprised at how delicious cold goose is… it’s very dark and meaty… I think i’ve almost preferred it as leftovers…
… and so to the real reason they invented Christmas… the left-over sandwich… in which Lucretia makes her star turn… along with some pork stuffing, lettuce for crunch, tomato for a clean acidic bite and good old-fashioned mayonnaise for lubrication… now this is divine inspiration!

I don't think Americans eat a lot of goose. We were just talking about that the other day. My brother a few years back was going to cook a goose for Christmas and everyone went berserk. We ended up having the traditional prime rib. Would love to try goose one day though.

I've decided to let the diet go to hell and start fresh on January 1st! I'd lost 10 lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas and like you said, the left overs, the parties, the wine, the appetizers . . . Your sandwich looks delicious! I wonder how duck pizza would be . . . have a great day!

dom! totally the best bit!! leftovers for days, but so many ways to make them exciting! just made two turkey pies for the freezer and made sure to leave just enough turkey for sandwiches today (stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayonnaise also) enjoy your holidays!!! 🙂

I love 'leftover' sandwiches and that one looks a beauty!

hey all, thanks for the kind words…
@FBMKW… i think because you guys have thanksgiving only a month earlier it must be tough to get excited about another meal… the goose was good but not as good as I wanted it to be so I wouldn't say you're missing much… if you like duck, you should roast one of those
