A good nights sleep is vital for me to function like a normal human being. Quite frankly if I’m grumpy or irritable, 50% chance is that I’m hungry (naturally) and 50% is because I didn’t sleep well. Fortunately the wonderful humans at Simba – the leading sleep-tech company, understand this too and so they sent me one of their award-winning (and most five-star awarded) Simba Hybrid Mattresses.
I’ve been using it for about 7 days now and here’s my initial review. (I will come back and update this after 30 days as I feel you can’t truly review something like a mattress until you’ve experienced it for a proper amount of time.)
Delivery
If you don’t know, Simba is one of those mattress companies that deliver their mattresses in a box. If I think back to when I was a student and buying a mattress meant hiring a van to go pick it up and then struggle with an unwieldily giant marshmallow up 3 flights of stairs. How things have changed. It’s so simple, if a little shocking how they manage to squeeze it in to such a tight roll.
You do also have to be careful as you unwrap it but once unpackaged it’s like a giant jelly fish coming back to life as it settles and expands back into shape. We opened it onto the bed and then happened to be staying away that night so it had a good 24 hours to expand and settle.
Style
I love the look of this mattress, which seems like an odd thing to say because it’s basically going to live its life draped with bedding. With its graphite grey base and white quilted top, it has a classic modernity to it that looks functional and stylish at the same time.
Sleep
You know that feeling when you lay down on a new bed, or a fancy hotel bed for the first time and you just know you’re going to sleep well. This mattress has that vibe. It has a sort of soft firmness that is difficult to describe. Almost like being hugged and gently pushed away at the same time. As I say, it’s only been a week but I already feel like I’m staying in a hotel!

I was sent the Simba Hybrid Mattress as a PR Sample to trial and review.
