… what’s really impressed me this month is the effort that you’ve all gone to just to bake some bread. Many of you said that it was a first attempt whilst a few of you were glad of the excuse to get back into the bread baking again and i’m really pleased and a little chuffed because bread baking is not an instant hit type of food, so I always knew this months challenge would be a sticky one… makes me feel all warm inside that so many of you took part… thank you…
enough gushing and let’s start with my own offering on the very first day of the challenge and this delightfully playful challa in a cake tin taken from the brilliant Bread by Liz Herbert

first up this month is Lou from Please Do Not Feed The Animals who usually sneaks in at the final furlong so i’m putting her proudly at the top with these amazing Ciabatta’s randomly selected from Dough by Richard Bertinet…
… and of course, where Lou goes, Steve (sometimes) follows with his yummy entry, Cheese Bread taken from Bread Matters by Andrew Whitely
and here’s the lovely Susan from A Little Bit of Heaven on a Plate who created a beautiful Levain de Campagne, one of a few sourdough entries which she chose randomly from How to Make Bread by Emmanuelle Hadjiandreou.
next is random recipes virgin Craig from the brilliantly titled The Usual Saucepans who overcame is cowardice with this Basic White Loaf taken from the Great British Bake-Off’s How to Bake
here’s Jen from Blue Kitchen Bakes with a spicy number this month in the form of Red Lentil Dosas taken from Bread by Christine Ingram and Jennie Shapter
next up is another stunning sourdough, this time from Amanda at Dancing Veggies and her beloved bread machine and her bread machine baking book.
and here’s the fabulous Choclette from Chocolate Log Blog with a really rather special Figgy Bread Roll chosen randomly via Eat Your Books from Gaia’s Kitchen by Julia Pnsonby
next up is Elizabeth from Elizabeth’s Kitchen with this beautifully nobbly Feta Cheese, Onion and Potato Bread adapted from Delia Smith’s How to Cook Book One.
here’s the delightful Janice from Farmersgirl Kitchen with a loaf with lift! It’s a Dill Onion Yoghurt Bread taken from the New Bread Machine Book by Marjie Lambert
and next along on the random recipes bread wagon is Stacy from Food Lust People Love with some rather divine looking and very British crumpets taken from English Bread and Yeast Cookery by Elizabeth David
and of course here’s Bec’s from Lay the Table with an homage to my cake loaf above and her version, a Crown loaf, taken from the Mary Berry Baking Book
now doesn’t this sound and look like a delightful idea for a loaf… it’s a Coconut Milk Loaf from Lola and Finn’s Mum which she randomly selected from Warm Bread and Honey Cake by Gaitri Pagrach-Chandra
next up is ‘I cant follow a recipe’ Ruth from Makey-Cakey with a Sour Cherry and Walnut Stick from Ottolenghi The Cookbook… looks perfectly good to me…
oh and here’s the lovely Michael from Me, My Food and I with the first of a few Focaccia submissions and I must say by the look of this photo I am sorely tempted to have a go… his is a Sea Salt and Rosemary Focaccia taken from River Cottage Baking – Breads and Puddings
next up is probably our most unlucky random recipes participant Jane from Onions and Paper with what I think is a resounding success with these glorious Bagels taken from a BBC Good Food Magazine called Bread
and on to Sally the Recipe Junkie with a sweet entry in the form of these rather yummy Lemon and Almond Buns randomly selected from Short and Sweet by Dan Lepard (just don’t tell Dan…)
always one for submitting something somewhat left-flield (and we love her for it) is Janet from The Taste Space and these Seitan Sausage Buns adapted from Vegan Yum Yum.
I have a little chopping board envy from this entry by my dear lovely Susan from The Spice Garden with a rather noble looking Pain Grenoblois randomly selected from Paris Boulangerie Patisserie by Linda Dannenberg.

next up is Denise from Magnolia Verandah with our third Focaccia bread and when I saw this I was blown away by how perfectly cakey it looks… just how I love it!… the recipe was selected from Baking Made Easy by Lorraine Pascale
here’s Johanna from the brilliant Green Gourmet Giraffe with some Brown Butter Picklets (not pikelets we’re assured)… it seems she may have come a cropper by the curse of Dan Lepard but if you ask me they’re pretty beautiful in their own little way…

what a beautiful batch of breads – I want some of every bread – was pleased to try something different thanks to random recipes – now I have so many more breads I want to try
Oh no, I missed the round up again…I thought it was tomorrow…Oh well at least I made some lovely Persian milk bread…no rush to write the post today now.
