… it seems that my random recipes random number generator thingamidoodah proved rather popular this month with many of you rather liking the thrill of the unknown digital ‘hands-off’ approach… there was something rather scary about having no control over any of the choices that added something to the proceedings this month… it certainly left us with a very random collection of recipes from a fearsome selection of books. Some months it can be all curry’s and cakes but this time we really had a wide selection of randomness… i’m sure this high-tech gadget will make another appearance again soon but until then, feast your eyes on this lot…

here’s Janet from The Taste Space with a wonderfully summery Basmati Rice Pilaf with Caramelized Onions and Broccoli taken from 1000 Indian Recipes.
and next is Claire from Under The Blue Gum Tree with an inspirational Cardamom Challah Bread taken from Bread by Rachel Allen… I made this bread this weekend and it was good and has inspired me for May’s random recipes… watch this space…

now this is truly random and quite frankly, exactly what random recipes are all about… it’s a Chicken Under a Brick made by Sally from Recipe Junkie and taken from Nigellisima by Nigella Lawson… maybe a little unfair of me to show you the ‘before’ picture but you’ll just have to go over to Sally’s blog to see the finished dish..
next up is Sarah from Sezza Knits with a very nice and naughtily boozy, picture perfect, Chocolate Raisin Cake taken from Bake Essential Companion by Alison Thompson

and next we have the adorable Susan from The Spice Garden with Cathy Rothwell’s Teryaki Sirloin Tips, well they’re Susan’s i’m sure but the recipe comes randomly selected from Cathy!
next up is Elizabeth from The Law Student’s Cookbook and a Ricotta Sponge Cake that went a little wrong, even though to me it looks like the ultimate sandwich that i’d have no problems eating!
and next it’s the lovely Roz from The More Than Occasional Baker with a fab tray of chocolate and coffee spelt cookies taken from the Cookie Jar cook book.

I'm a bit late to the party but wowsers, this has to be the longest Random Recipes yet! Everything looks great and thank you for the reference to my strawberry blonde hair! Maybe I should rename my blog 'strawberry bites' probably more acurate anyway! 🙂
