and here’s Solange from Pebble Soup which, without doubt is clearly up there at the top of the leader board when it comes to ‘most random’ with her Baked Bean Soup taken from the brilliant Celebration of Soups by Lindsey Bareham… come on though….

and meanwhile over at the Chocolate Log Blog Choclette went truffle crazy with these stunning Rosemary Chocolate Truffles taken from the impossibly beautiful Cooking with Chocolate by Frederik Bau… a book she wishes she hadn’t chosen but boy am I glad she did!

They all look amazing! Sorry I didn't join in this time – the only recipe book I got last Christmas was “My Vietnam” by Luke Nguyen, which I really got for reading rather than for cooking from. I did try opening it at random a few times to see if I could find anything I could cook, but Mark's allergies to fish, seafood and coriander ruled practically everything out so it just wouldn't have been random. I hope you do the same again next year with this Christmas's books though!

Hold on a moment, 3 of the chicken pieces in the pan are legs. Are you looking at them through rose-coloured (notice the spelling) glasses? Would love to salute you in person at the New Year. But it would take too long to swim there.

Great round up and I am so sorry I didn't participate. My cookbooks finally arrived just in time and I had great intentions but everyone know what the roads to hell are paved with. They all look marvelous but I may have to overcome my fear of chicken thighs to try yours first, Dom.
