the delightful Sarah over at Maison Cupcake has set her second Forever Nigella bloggers challenge under the title of ‘seduced by chocolate’… now you know me, I hate chocolate and I’m not in any way competitive, so for me this challenge really doesn’t interest me at all… but I thought I ought to participate… you know… just for the camaraderie… this has nothing to do with the chocolate I tell you…!
… had to be something fast and cheap though… I’m thoroughly exhausted from the last week of madness and whatever I do needs to be quick and easy all weekend… plus I’m wanting to save a few pennies for the kitchen extension that we’re planning this year and i’ve got to start somewhere… (I know… I’m not convinced making muffins will help either but I did have all the ingredients in the house already… what you gonna do eh?)
Whatever the problem – chocolate muffins are the answer!!
Have my pile of books ready and waiting – fingers crossed there's no liver!!!!!
So true BVG…
…. I picked my recipe yesterday. Going to make it tomorrow. It's quite a bizarre one. scary but fun!

Didn't know you hate chocolate Dom… The muffins look great though.
I baked this muffins before, sans the walnuts and they were delish.
Yes right. Hate chocolate, right. I believe you, right. LOl. They look GORGEOUS x
These muffins look great! I love the heart shapes! =)
These sound gorgeous, it's been ages since I had a good muffin and banana and chocolate together is really tempting me….
I'm planning kitchen revamp this year too. I just CANNOT face the mess and disruption though.
Thank you so much for joining this month's Forever Nigella… my FFTO recipe has been sat on my worktop all the week, I hope to get time to make it tomorrow.
What a delicious looking muffin! We've been through a remodel three years ago, I just found the tile for the backsplash . . . not to put it on the wall! Have fun this weekend!
Walnuts and chocolate have a beautiful marriage. Looks wonderful.
oh dear – now I have to out my secret kitchen vice – two walnut halves sandwiched together with Nutella…so of course these fab muffins have to be made…well done Dom – right up my street.
x
Damn, Dom, wish I had more of a sweet tooth, as your baking recipes always look great – but I do have a big bunch of bananas lurking in the bowl that I need to use pretty quickly, so I reckon I'll give this a go!
Hearts of muffin, so romantic! LOL
What a great entry for this months challenge. They look great … and almost healthy too lol
With chocolate involved, what's a person to do? Hearts seem very apt for the romantic month of February.
Hey! You wouldn't have to twist my arm to knosh one of those muffins! They're lookin' pretty tasty to me!
You are a true martyr to the cause Dom – and thanks for reminding me that I need to get my skates on for Seduced by Chocolate…
I love muffins because I can freeze them individually and I won't eat the loaf of banana bread piece by piece. This is a nice recipe with the chocolate added. Have a good week. Oh , I haven't pick my recipe yet for the challenge. I'm a little nervous I might pick tripe or rabbit or even some kind of animal brain.
Mmm, banana muffins are always good, but chocolate would make them even better. These sound delicious. I hope you'll come by and link them up to Sweets for a Saturday #5. http://sweet-as-sugar-cookies.blogspot.com/2011/02/sweets-for-saturday-5.html
@ FBMKW… come on now… don't be scared, the random recipe challenge has been designed to stretch you slightly but not scare you… a bit of fun (although I picked my own last night and was a little scared at first… in the end it turned out to be great fun and not daunting at all!..) will post about it mid week. x
looks great love simple recipe and her blog is super cool
Rebecca
Love the ingredients in these muffins, I may just have to make them!
Heart-shaped muffins – genius. I keep meaning to just use parcment paper to give that deli-look but change my mind at the last minute.
Wow nice choc muffin!!!!! you cant get it wrong with this classic, isn't? yammy yammy!!
How did it go with the arancini yesterday?
Ciao Dom
Thanks everyone! They are lovely. I spiced them up a bit last night with some chocolate creamcheese frosting I had left over!
@Nicoletta. The Arancini were gooooood. Time consuming but good. Will post about them tomorrow.
Dom!!!! Just to say thank you . . .starting from the day I mentioned your challenge to my daughter, now she wants to cook a lot of sweet things, she likes flipping through the pages of cooking books . . .I always tried to teach her how to cook but, you know, children never listen to their mums. . .You made the miracle!
LOL
Oh Manu that's so adorable!!! I agree any fun way to get people to cook is always good. Now to those who are too scared to try the challenge, take Manus daughter as inspiration! We'll dedicate next months challenge to her!
Thanks a lot Dom ♥. . . Beatrice will be proud and happy!!!
PS This is another good way to improve her English!!
Your muffins look and sound delicious. I can't wait to hear about your plans for the kitchen. I hope you have a great day. Blessings…Mary
Excellent muffin. I adore the heart shapes. 😉
Obviously quick and easy doesn't sacrifice taste! These look delicious.
I'm back in the e-mail business. I felt really cut off from the world. We are so dependent on the internet these days.
Best,
Bonnie
Oh Nigella, total goddess. Her baking recipes have never led me astray yet. These look fab x
